The Don’s Real Daughter

For eight years, Alessia Vitale has lived in a cellar beneath the Vitale estate, blamed by her father, Don Enzo Vitale, for her mother's death. Because she does not resemble her mother, he adopts Bianca Vitale, a girl from New Haven who looks eighty percent like her, and names her his only heir before the five Mafia families of Corholt.

Bianca breaks Alessia's fingers, slashes her face and turns the household against her, while Don Vitale refuses to see it. When the principal threatens expulsion unless a parent appears, Alessia knows her father will not come. Then, three days before her sixteenth birthday, her mother returns.

Alessia must survive the cruelty of the estate until the birthday party where Bianca is celebrated and she is forbidden to appear.
