What if I hold rights to something on EditWrx Reads?
EditWrx Reads is a quiet place for reading opening chapters. We are not a library and we do not own the books. If you own the rights to a work and you see it here—whether it is a book page, the preview chapters, or just the cover—you can ask us to take it down. We will act on clear, honest requests. This page explains how to send one that we can act on.
How do I send a takedown notice?
Write to us at the email below. Put the details in the body of the message. We do not need a particular form, but the points below help us understand and verify what you are asking. If any part is missing, we may have to write back before we can remove anything.
- Which work you own. Tell us the title and enough detail that we can find it in our catalogue.
- Where it sits on this site. Copy the exact web address (URL) of each page you want removed. We cannot search by description alone.
- How to reach you. Your name, email, and—if you like—a phone number or mailing address, so we can reply.
- Why you believe the use is not allowed. A short, plain statement that the material is being used without your permission, or the permission of the rights owner if you are acting for someone else.
- A statement that the details you gave are correct. Also confirm that you are the rights owner or that you are authorised to act for them.
- Your signature. A physical or electronic signature is fine—typing your name at the end of the email works.
What happens after I write?
We read every notice. If it is complete and clear, we will remove or disable access to the material you identified—usually within a short time. If something is unclear, we may ask follow-up questions before we act. We keep a record of the notice and what we did.
What if a page was removed by mistake?
If your content was taken down and you believe it should not have been, you can send us a counter-notice. It should include the same kind of information: identify the work and the URL, give your contact details, explain why the removal was a mistake, state that the details are accurate, and sign it. We will review it and may restore the material if the claim holds up. Send it to the same email.
What about repeated or abusive notices?
We take genuine claims seriously. But if we receive notices that are clearly unfounded, repeatedly vague, or sent in bad faith, we may set them aside. That is rare, but it keeps this place honest.

A quiet reminder
This page is part of EditWrx Reads. If you are unsure whether your request fits here, write to us anyway. We would rather talk it through than guess.
