Kept in Don’s Shadow

Gideon Calloway sends his daughter Livia to Chicago under the protection of his most trusted ally, Ronan Whitlock. By day she is Ronan's private assistant at Whitlock Holdings; by night she is the secret lover he keeps hidden in a safe house, certain that one night he will offer her a ring.

Then Ronan announces that his former fiancée, Zoya Sokolova, is returning to Chicago, and Livia understands she was never meant to be his wife. She destroys what he gave her, calls her father and resolves to go back to New York to marry Bennett Mercer. But leaving Ronan requires his signature, and even her resignation must pass through his hands.

As Zoya remakes the lake house and Ronan's coldness turns public, Livia counts the days until her departure — while the Don who owns Chicago begins to realize his favorite toy is slipping away.
