The Script of Destiny

A man at a bar works up the courage to ask a beautiful woman for her number, only to have her shut him down with two marriage certificates. Humiliated, he drinks too much and mistakes another patron for his friend, delivering a slap and a squeeze to the wrong person. The woman turns out to be the same stranger, and she is furious.

When her marriage certificates vanish from her purse, she accuses him of stealing them, insisting they matter more than he can imagine. He denies it, but his drunken remark about a Black Card inside makes him look guiltier still. She calls the police, and he ends up in a station mediation room.

Trying to spare himself embarrassment, he gives the officer a vague account of the night. The woman rises and corrects him on the spot, and the misunderstanding spirals into a confrontation neither of them can walk away from.
