Story

The story

Stella is dead last in her class, her mind slow to learn and quick to forget. When a System offers to unlock her intelligence, it demands she stay close to the school's top student: Julian, her cold and mocking childhood friend. She becomes his errand runner, enduring his insults for the sake of her grades.

Then a transfer student named Liam arrives, already scouted by Ivy Leagues. Gentle and patient, he brings her breakfast and teaches her math. Julian orders her to keep away from him — until the next mock exam, when Liam takes the number one rank.

After being tricked into running errands in the heat, Stella overhears Julian call her no different from a pig. The System urges her to unbind, but Julian remains the top student. As her desk mate's seat sits empty, Stella must weigh the cruelty she endures against the goal her parents wished for.

Opening excerpt

I was dead last in my class. The System told me the only way to fix my brain and raise my grades was to bind myself to the student ranked #1 and establish "physical intimacy." So, I became a simp for my toxic childhood friend, Julian. I followed him around like a lost puppy, ignoring his mockery and disgust, doing everything to please him.
