Story
The story
When a single mother sees Stage IV Gastric Cancer printed on her pathology report, her first thought is her daughter Lily, a high school senior with college applications looming. She resolves to fight, to spend whatever it takes to survive at least until graduation.
But in the hospital parking lot, her banking app shows a balance of zero. The eighteen thousand dollars she scraped together over a decade is gone, transferred by Face ID on her own phone. A memory surfaces: two evenings earlier, Lily held the phone to her face, asking for approval of senior exam fees.
At midnight, Lily walks in with neon-pink hair and glittery makeup, fresh from securing VIP passes to see Jaxon Wade. She wired the money for a meet-and-greet package. When her mother reveals the diagnosis, Lily calls it emotional blackmail, then says cancer is a death sentence anyway, so at least one dream came true.
