The story

For five years, Chloe has stayed by Xavier's side, from high school into college, while everyone else came and went. On his birthday she arrives late and overhears him dismiss her to the others: they are just friends. Turning to leave, she meets Zach around the corner, and on impulse kisses him in front of the opened private room, then walks in on his arm and calls him her boyfriend.

I loved Xavier for five years.

From freshman year of high school to sophomore year of college, people came and went, but I was the only one who stayed by his side.

On his birthday, I was a little late. Outside the private room, I heard him say, "Chloe? Don't talk nonsense, we're just friends."
