I Killed My Husband After He Faked His Death

Magdalena Bianchi, the Donna of a mafia family, trained Damiano Vestri and raised him to become its Don. On the eve of their wedding, he left to hunt a traitor and was reported dead in an explosion. A week later, an email arrives with a pregnancy report and a photo of Damiano caressing Wendy Cara's belly. He faked his death to be with his first love.

As Donna, Magdalena allows herself a single tear, then orders funeral invitations instead of wedding ones. When Wendy, Damiano's adoptive sister, protests that his body was never found, Magdalena corners her into admitting she is eight months pregnant. The timing matches the attack in which Magdalena was shot and lost the ability to bear children.

At the funeral, Magdalena forces the family's trusted members to execute a bound traitor, then turns the gun on Wendy. Damiano's parents David and Victoria defend her, but their unease betrays what they know. Magdalena presses Wendy's belly, certain Damiano will surface to reclaim his position, and determined that he never will.
