Story

The story

Chloe abandoned her mission and faked her death to escape Ezra Sterling, the dangerous second male lead she was sent to save, leaving behind a forged pregnancy certificate and a staged car crash. Three years later, a glitch in the System drags her back into his world without her consent, and the System admits Ezra threatened the lives of half the book's characters to force her return.

In a dimly lit VIP club room, Ezra is waiting. He orders everyone out, and his best friend Leo blocks Chloe's path, his hatred for her undiminished. Alone with her, Ezra pins her against the wall, vowing she will never leave him again and threatening to keep her bound and gagged at home. He insists that since she faked a pregnancy, they should have a child.

Cornered and humiliated, Chloe hides her fury behind sweet words, coaxing Ezra into taking her home. He agrees at once, unaware of the danger she is planning for him.
