The Genius Behind His Canvas

For seven years, Cece has stood beside Adrian, a once-in-a-century artistic genius, even as she cannot distinguish the most basic color schemes. He defended her against every mockery, until the talented painter Quinn Snow entered his world. Now Adrian spends his nights revising Quinn's drafts, rushes to her dog's aid, and lets friends call the two of them a perfect match without a word of protest.

When Cece confronts him, Adrian insists he cares only for art and life. After she shows him photos of him and Quinn embracing, he overturns their dinner onto the floor and rages that she cannot understand the mutual appreciation between geniuses. Cece asks him to cut Quinn off; he refuses.

At the hospital, Quinn slams Cece's head against a wall, then cries that Cece is self-harming. Adrian questions Cece instead of believing her. Cece slaps him and calls the police, certain she has already suffered this loss once before.
