My Husband Chose His Ex, So I Chose His Rival

Avery's husband, Ethan, is a physical therapist who cannot let go of his first love, Chloe, a prima ballerina. When a coworker sends Avery a photo of Ethan holding Chloe in the therapy room, he insists it is only his job, and Avery quietly says she understands. Since Chloe returned to the country two years ago, every strained muscle and sleepless night has pulled Ethan back to her, even on the night they signed their marriage license.

When a sharp pain strikes Avery's abdomen, Ethan dismisses it as referred pain and leaves for Chloe's morning therapy, telling her to take painkillers and turn on the exhaust fan. Alone, Avery takes herself to the hospital, where an ultrasound reveals a dangerous pregnancy.

At home, she finds Chloe curled on their sofa while Ethan kneels before her, massaging her ankle. As Avery grips the entryway cabinet, Chloe speaks first.
