Love will dissipate like mist

Sera Adams once believed Liam Hayes was her destiny. He carried her from a burning building, swore he would love only her, and their wedding date was set. Then, at the bridal shop, the planner calls with a correction: the bride's name must be changed to Valerie Sterling, Liam's ex-girlfriend, who has returned from abroad. Sera has already seen Liam propose to Valerie at a private club, calling it Valerie's last wish and trusting that Sera loves him too much to leave.

So Sera lets him postpone their wedding, then quietly books the hall next door for the same day and crosses the groom's name off their invitation, writing her own beside Ryder Blackwood's. She hands Liam the sealed box and tells him to open it on the first of next month, the day he plans to marry another woman.

He believes she will never walk away. This time, she intends to marry on the very same day.
