The Day My Water Broke, I Caught Him Cheating

Violet Fox is in labor when a phone call from ten years ago warns her that her husband, Justin Sanchez, has been cheating for years. She dismisses it, until she follows his phone location and finds him with Carolyn Harding in the hospital stairwell. As contractions tear through her, she signs her surgical consent form and writes "Divorced" in the box for marital status.

Then her mother-in-law tears the form apart, insisting a master read the day as cursed and that Violet must hold the baby in until after midnight. The doctor warns that both mother and child are in danger, but the older woman blocks the operating room door. Carolyn arrives and curses Justin outright, shoving the mother-in-law aside to defend Violet.

After the birth, Justin holds their daughter and weeps, while Carolyn claims credit for his gifts and names herself the baby's godmother. Watching them, Violet remembers every kindness he ever showed her, and says nothing.
