Love Ends Here

For seven years, Lawrence Hale has served as Julia Ware's assistant and lover, devoted to her every demand. Then he overhears her tell a group of socialites that he is nothing but a fling, a man she would never marry, kept only because his face resembles someone else's. That night, Julia announces she is getting engaged.

Quietly, Lawrence begins to pull away. He stops preparing her breakfast, gives away the tie she gifted him, and finally agrees to his mother Maddison Pace's plea to come home and meet a woman chosen by his Aunt Ella. When Julia notices his coldness, she demands to know what is wrong, but he tells her their relationship was always purely physical.

As Lawrence starts living for himself, Julia finds herself unable to let him go.
