Story

The story

Isabelle Thorne is the sole heiress to Thorne Industries. When she was ten, her grandfather handpicked four orphan boys to raise as potential husbands, hoping one would help her helm the Thorne empire. They became known as the Four Prodigies of Crestwood, yet all kept the heiress at a careful distance, and Aiden Vance, the one she secretly adored, gave his heart to Georgia Summers.

From his sickbed, her grandfather asks which man she will choose. Isabelle leaves her fate to a random draw, and it lands on the most rebellious of them all: Caleb Blackwood. At the engagement party, Aiden appears with bloodshot eyes, begging her not to cast him aside. She offers him a cool smile and dangles their signed marriage certificate before him, telling him he is too late.

As she turns away, porcelain shatters behind her, followed by Aiden's choked whisper.
