Unpinned: How I Stopped Chasing the Campus God and Tamed a Golden Retriever

On Valentine's Day, Harper is the only girl left in her dorm room, still waiting on Weston Sterling, the pre-med campus god she has known since elementary school. When he finally calls at the last minute, she jokes that someone must have cancelled on him, and he hangs up. She blocks his number and buries herself in flashcards.

Two hours later Weston is downstairs with seafood chowder, the same soup she once brought him when he was sick. He takes her phone, unlocks it with his own birthday, and unblocks himself. Then Avery steps out of his passenger seat, and Harper learns he took Avery to dinner first.

Avery asks for his number, and he agrees while looking straight at Harper. Later Avery shows her screenshots from Weston's group chat, where he mocked her desperate messages and his friends tore her apart.
