Story

The story

A family deal bound Samara Romano to Marco Corvini, though his obsession was always Isabella Falcone, princess of the rival Falcone family. After twenty years of marriage, Marco devoured the Romano empire and had Samara murdered at her deathbed by their own son, who said his father needed the Falcones' power.

Samara opens her eyes back in Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, on the day of her blood oath with Marco, the day after her parents were buried. Marco holds the ceremonial dagger, his eyes locked on Isabella in the back pew. This time Samara switches the pact for one bearing Isabella's name, seals it with her blood, and takes the secret trust her mother left her.

But Marco is already on the phone, telling Isabella the oath is a formality and that once it is official he will have reason to get rid of Samara. Isabella arrives wearing Samara's wedding dress, and Marco stops her from leaving.
