Story
The story
On the day her divorce is finalised, Evelyn walks away with nothing, and her son Julian drives her to a shabby sixth-floor rental. A forgotten Bluetooth connection lets her overhear Julian and her ex-husband Richard gloating: the money and houses are already Richard's, and Julian's devotion was only an act for a promised sports car.
At the notary, Evelyn is asked to sign a quitclaim deed waiving her rights to three properties bought during the marriage and held in Julian's name. Richard arrives with Valerie, his mistress, wearing the jade pendant he once gave Evelyn. Julian presses her to sign; Evelyn refuses.
Now the family's carefully staged betrayal is out in the open, and Evelyn must decide what she will do with what she knows.

On the way, he pulled over to buy a pack of cigarettes, but he forgot to disconnect his phone from the car’s Bluetooth.
Suddenly, my ex-husband Richard’s voice echoed through the car speakers, dripping with smug satisfaction:

Immediately after, my son’s voice replied:
