The Disabled Maestro Is My Judge

In Vienna, Alistair Cross meets his ex-wife Savannah Reilly, who is accompanying her protégé Asher King to the International Piano Competition. Seeing the empty sleeve of his right arm, Savannah pities him, pressing a ticket into his hand and insisting that Asher will carry forward the dream of performing at the Golden Hall that Alistair can never achieve again. She cannot accept that he has moved on, and she refuses to believe that his wife is Eliza Sinclair, the head of a global conglomerate.

Alistair keeps his composure, revealing nothing of the truth: he is the Head Judge of the very competition, and his wife is Eliza Sinclair. When Savannah clings to him, his friend Owen Keller, a film student, drives her off. In the car, Alistair recalls how Savannah once charged in to save him from thugs, and how she later supported him after his father's death and his mother's breakdown.

Now Savannah is certain he is struggling, while Alistair hides a life she cannot imagine.
