Sunshine in Asheville

Amelia has spent twenty-three years believing her family loved her, until her parents drain the last of her savings to buy her younger brother a house. When she confronts them, her mother coldly reveals the money is already gone, taken from a card Amelia never thought to guard. Betrayed and left with nothing, she walks out into the streets of Asheville, a city that promises only the possibility of something new.

As her wedding to Lucas approaches and her hard-won year-end bonus slips away to a manager's nephew, Amelia wonders how much more she can lose. Yet a hidden bank account, opened years ago at her best friend Sarah's urging, holds a quiet reserve no one in her family knows about. With fifteen days of leave ahead of her, Amelia resolves not merely to survive, but to flourish.
