Where Did the Patient in the Ambulance Go?

Evan Finch is an ambulance driver who, in a previous life, was blamed when a patient vanished from his vehicle mid-transport; the patient's poisoned body was found in his home, and he died in prison. Now reborn, he faces the same call: Stanley Mason, a hospital orderly, insists only Evan can fetch his critically ill father, invoking his late mother's dying wish. Evan senses the trap and refuses, but pressure from Stanley, a nurse, and coworkers forces him behind the wheel.

Suspecting the ambulance itself, Evan records everything, drops the nurse en route, and has another hospital's crew take Stanley's father away. At the hospital, Stanley and the nurse accuse him of dumping them and abducting the old man, but Evan calmly reveals the transfer and challenges them to call the state hospital.

Stanley's expected delight falters as his scheme begins to unravel.
