Sweetheart Made Me Cross Exploding Fire, I Pushed Husband

Carissa Mason returns to her husband Alfred Edwards's hometown for a second wedding ceremony, only to find his parents, Grant Edwards and Anna Harding, waiting with a fire pit at the door. They insist an outsider must step over it to burn away bad luck, and Alfred pleads with her to comply for the family's sake.

In her last life, Carissa crossed that pit, which Alfred's childhood sweetheart Julia Pruitt had rigged to explode. Burned beyond recovery, she watched Alfred end her treatment and reveal that Julia's motion-triggered fire had worked, so the two could claim the inheritance her parents left her. The Edwards family then blamed the fire pit on Carissa, smeared her name, and celebrated Alfred and Julia's marriage.

Now reborn, Carissa faces the same four people and the same fire pit. She refuses to be forced, turning their pressure back on them while the watching villagers begin to question the Edwards family's motives.
