Story
The story
Jenna Perkins has spent her life hearing that her mother, Carol, treats her two daughters with perfect fairness. Every gift, every slice of bread, every backpack had to be identical. But when Carol books Tiffany a first-class flight home for the holidays while sending Jenna a nineteen-hour bus ticket, the old lie begins to crack.
When Jenna questions the difference, Carol insists she is being unfair and demands Jenna buy Tiffany a gold bracelet as compensation. Praise floods the family group chat for Tiffany, while Jenna is removed from it. Then Carol calls Jenna's office and quits her job on her behalf.
Jenna must decide what to do when the person who claims to love her equally keeps taking everything from her.
