Parallel Lies

On her twenty-second birthday, a mysterious poll appears in Amelia Silverstone's home, asking whether she would trade her own life for that of Rosamund Silverstone, the sister who survived in a parallel world. Her parents, Amy Flynn and Roger Silverstone, vote yes, insisting Amelia was only born because Rosamund died and owes her this. The same poll reaches her boyfriend, Caelan Jackman, who also chooses yes, saying Rosamund once saved his life.

Amelia has spent years being molded into her dead sister's likeness, scolded for every difference, and now her family prepares for Rosamund's return by tracking her health, taking her ID, and serving food she cannot eat. When a voice message from Rosamund surfaces, begging not to replace her, Amelia's parents refuse to believe it and turn on her.

With five days left before the replacement, Amelia must decide what is left of a life everyone has already traded away.
