My Discounted Husband

Sarah's husband Carter always promises his love is generous, yet every time the family needs money his share comes with a discount. When their three-year-old son Noah is rushed to the emergency room with violent seizures, the hospital demands a $5,000 deposit before admitting him to the pediatric ICU. Carter transfers only $3,000 and tells her to figure out the rest herself, then disappears.

Alone in the corridor, Sarah pawns the one-carat diamond ring he swore cost ten thousand dollars. The pawnbroker tells her it is moissanite, worth about fifty dollars. Her own mother refuses to help, and friends hang up, until a stranger named Rachel sends the missing two thousand dollars and leaves a business card from Bennett Legal Group.

Carter finally arrives, but only to photograph the ICU for social media and ask how she raised the money. When Sarah says she pawned the ring, he pales and demands she buy it back at once.
