Story

The story

For seven years, Laurent Cross has lived as a beggar on the streets, his legs mangled, his body broken. The city believes he framed Amelia Hayes and ran her down to force a miscarriage, then had her imprisoned. When his parents are murdered and their graves desecrated, Amelia returns from prison, cold and vengeful, backed by the powerful socialite Jacob Croft.

As Amelia tortures him before his parents' corpses, Laurent's silence hides a deeper truth: Jacob destroyed the Cross family and orchestrated everything, forcing Laurent to sacrifice his legs to protect Amelia's parents. Now, with nothing left to lose, Laurent must decide whether to finally speak the truth before Amelia's revenge consumes them both.
