Story

The story

In a post-apocalyptic base, Felix lives as the despised ex-boyfriend of Kieran, the base's ultimate leader. Hated by the residents for his spoiled, parasitic ways, Felix relies entirely on Kieran for food, water, and shelter, even as their arguments grow more frequent and Kieran's patience wears thin.

After miraculously surviving being thrown to a zombie horde, Felix learns a terrifying truth: his world is a post-apocalyptic novel, and he is a tragic villain meant to die early. He resolves to abandon the plot and live quietly alone, but Kieran suddenly tracks him down, bloodshot and breathless.

When hostile men corner Felix at his door, his usual arrogance falters, and he can only invoke Kieran's name as protection.

Opening excerpt

After miraculously surviving and escaping, I discovered a terrifying truth. My world was actually a post-apocalyptic novel, and I was nothing more than a pathetic, tragic villain meant to die early.

To keep myself alive, I decided to completely abandon the main plotline and live a quiet, peaceful life on my own.

That was my plan, at least. But one day, the leader of the base suddenly tracked me down. His eyes were completely bloodshot, and the first words out of his mouth were breathless and broken.
