Blood Lies and Cherry Pies

Cici has always believed her brother Ethan is a vampire. He sleeps in a freezing basement room, avoids the sun, and drinks from labeled blood bags. But when she secretly sips one, it tastes like cherry juice. Ethan has been faking it for ten years, ever since she begged for a vampire brother as a child.

She says nothing, testing him instead, and he panics at the smallest hint. Then Ryan, the man Ethan calls his werewolf nemesis, arrives with a lead on something Ethan had him investigating. Ethan sends Cici away before she can hear more.

Determined to end his nights in the cold, Cici returns with tools to destroy the ice coffin. Behind the mirror in that room she finds a wall of photographs of herself and everyone she has ever met, linked by red string.
