Rebirth: Expelling the Cheating Boyfriend

In her previous life, Danielle gave up high school to work and put Henric Balton through college. She died in a car accident while Henric married a beautiful, wealthy woman, and his grandmother Marianna was glad she was gone. When Danielle opens her eyes again, she is sixteen, and Henric is taking the pancakes she earned from days of farm work.

This time she snatches them back and vows to live for herself. Her report card shows she aced every test, but her father Robert Follman refuses to pay for high school, telling her to work so her brother Morty can find a wife. Danielle takes a waiter job in town, where the owner's wife ignores a customer's harassment and the owner later refuses her two months' wages, slapping and kicking her as he drives away.

With tuition due in two days and only a little money from a kind neighbor, Danielle sits up until dawn. Then her aunt Katy Cullen, who has not visited in nine years, arrives with gifts.
