Story
The story
At her best friend Rosalie's wedding, Mia Song storms the altar and slaps the bride, then does it again. No one stops her: not Rosalie's husband Daniel Gray, not her parents, not her in-laws. The guests whisper about betrayal and jealousy, but Mia's fury centers on one question—why Rosalie chose a white dress.
When Mia vows a third slap, Rosalie's parents step aside, and the Gray family, warned that Mia will pull her investment from the Gray Corporation, has bodyguards hold Rosalie in place. Even Rosalie's plea that she is pregnant does not stay Mia's hand.
As Rosalie threatens to call the police, Mia waits, certain the last blow will land.
Opening excerpt
Without a word, I stormed onto the stage and, in front of all her friends and family, slapped her. Twice. Hard.
Her husband, her parents, her in-laws—not a single one of them moved to stop me.
As she stared at me in stunned silence, I raised my hand again.
She screamed in terror, "I'm calling the police!"
Her husband grabbed her wrist.
"You call them," he warned, his voice like ice, "and this wedding is off."
Before I laid a hand on her, I asked a very serious question.
"Why did you choose a white dress?"
