Story
The story
At the Cavill Enterprises tech showcase, Tristan storms the stage and accuses the company of plagiarism. In a previous life, Leo charged up to defend the firm, only to be framed by his fiancée Isabel with forged evidence and imprisoned, where he died. This time, Leo does nothing and watches the panic spread.
Isabel begs him to fix the crisis, but Leo coldly points out that only a few people had access to the leaked data. On stage, Tristan presents his "original drafts," while Isabel's siloed researchers cannot answer his detailed claims. The press mocks Cavill Enterprises as a joke, and the stock price plummets.
Back home, Isabel hands Leo a document and urges him to sign it. The heading reads: CONFESSION AGREEMENT.
Opening excerpt
I was back at the Cavill Enterprises tech showcase. I knew Tristan would storm the stage crying plagiarism, but this time, I did nothing.
Last time, his accusation wiped out ten percent of Cavill's market value instantly. I was the one who stepped up, turned the scandal into a triumph, and boosted the company's reputation.
My reward? My fiancée Isabel framed me with fake evidence and had me imprisoned. The project I’d bled for was handed to Tristan on a silver platter.
I screamed, demanding to know why.
