Story

The story

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys have been married for three years. After Dahlia's rise to a billion-dollar fortune, she sends her secretary, Lyra Blaine, to hand Dustin a divorce agreement in the Quine Group office. Dustin refuses to sign unless Dahlia speaks to him herself.

Dahlia finally arrives and offers him a car, a house, and eight million dollars as alimony. Dustin asks whether money and power mean that much to her; she says they do, and that they are incompatible. When he asks about the heir of the Nolan family, she admits it. On their wedding anniversary, Dustin signs, asking only for his late mother's crystal necklace, and leaves.

In the elevator, Dustin receives a call from Hunter Anderson of the Swinton Group, who asks for his help with a friend's strange illness and offers canscora in return.
