Story

The story

After her husband Jake Carter demands a divorce to care for his crippled ex, Sarah Miller, Johanna Burton agrees at once and goes to the hospital for an abortion. In a past life she fought to keep the baby, exposed Sarah's secrets, and was killed by Jake for it. Now she only wants her grandmother's bracelet and a fresh start.

But Jake spreads a false announcement of her infidelity, and his mother Linda Carter throws her out. To reclaim the bracelet, Johanna is forced to nurse Sarah and her children, enduring slaps, hunger and blame as Jake takes Sarah's side.

When strangers force their way in, Sarah smirks and Jake locks Johanna in the storage room. This time she will not let the tragedy repeat.

When she came back, she was crippled, dragging along two scrawny kids.

The day I found out I was pregnant, Jake Carter demanded a divorce.
