Story

The story

For ten years, Stella has chased Jaxon, cleaning up after his endless parade of girlfriends. When a girl named Avery accuses her of pushing her in a restroom, Jaxon rushes in with his friends and demands Stella apologize. She refuses, and when he calls her a dog, she slaps him and cuts off every contact method she has for him.

Stella and Jaxon grew up together as childhood friends. When his family fell from grace, he lived with her family, and her devotion carried him through. Now his father is back on Wall Street, and Jaxon is the untouchable golden boy. But when Avery is assigned to Stella's office by Jaxon, Stella decides the company changes ownership next month, and Avery is fired.

Stella's grief over ten years of feelings collides with Jaxon's cruelty, and she walks away from the man she once raised.
