Story
The story
On his wedding day, Sean rides to the venue in the back of a dingy yellow cab. His fiancée, Lauren, blocks his path in front of the lead limousine and tells him to let Jared take his place in the grand entrance, because Jared is a committed bachelor who wanted to know what a real wedding procession feels like. Jared is already in the groom's seat, wearing the bespoke charcoal suit Sean spent weeks tailoring. Lauren calls the wedding a performance and says the papers they sign tomorrow are what matter.
As the caravan of thirty luxury vehicles drives off, Sean tells the driver to turn around. He is done taking someone else's leftovers. Then Lauren's messages arrive, warning him to use the service entrance so he won't steal Jared's spotlight, and a group chat floods with photos of Lauren and Jared together and old friends calling Sean a placeholder. When he answers Lauren's call, she demands he apologize to them because Jared is crying.
Sean tells her the wedding is off. He is not coming to the venue, and he will not sign the papers tomorrow.
