The story
Miriam Conner's three grown sons promised her a comfortable retirement, each depositing five grand into her card every month for ten years. The money was her peace of mind, her lifeline for old age.

Her eldest, Oliver, demands $200,000 for a house; Alvin wants $100,000 for his son Neal's summer camp; Edwin asks $80,000 for a car. When they learn there is nothing left, they turn on her, and the pressure kills her.
