Story

The story

Gerard Emerson returns from studying abroad to marry his childhood sweetheart, Cynthia Norton, but when he goes to collect the custom wedding tuxedo his mother commissioned, he finds it tailored to another man's measurements and worn by Theodore Hasting, the struggling student Cynthia sponsors. When Gerard objects, he is slapped, mocked as a gold-digger, and forced to kneel by boutique staff eager to please the man they call Mr. Norton.

Cynthia dismisses Gerard's call, and Theodore boasts that she promised to marry him. Gerard tears the million-dollar tuxedo in two and calls the police, only to learn that Theodore's fittings were arranged by Cynthia herself. Yet the garment carries a chip proving its true owner, and Gerard holds the wristband that can read it.

With the wedding approaching, a supervisor offers surveillance footage to back Theodore's claim. Gerard must prove who the tuxedo, and the marriage contract, truly belong to.
