Story
The story
When her husband, Drake Connor, posts a photo of her online, a woman is mistaken for his mistress. Nelly Brooks, the university student Drake has been sponsoring, confronts her in the street with a baby in her arms and a crowd of relatives and friends. The mob beats her, smashes her car, destroys a fifty-million-dollar porcelain vase she won at auction, and tears the jewelry from her body, all while broadcasting the attack live.
She calls the police and has a divorce agreement drawn up, but the confrontation has already broken something inside her. When Nelly takes a call from her husband, the woman recognizes Drake's voice. A photo on Nelly's phone shows him with Nelly and the baby in a villa the woman herself bought two years ago, and a marriage certificate suggests he has committed bigamy.
As Nelly tries to pry a bracelet from her wrist, the woman begs for its return, offering to drop all claims for the wreckage. The bracelet is the one thing she will not surrender.

The crowd beat me, smashed my car, and ripped my clothes. I left that encounter bruised and battered, suffering a concussion and a fractured arm.
