The Jilted Heiress And Her Fake Marriage

My ex-boyfriend stole my dead mother's ruby necklace to court a wealthy socialite, Grisel Knight.

Furious, I got drunk at a speakeasy and loudly declared my revenge plan: I was going to seduce Grisel's untouchable billionaire cousin, Bennet Knight, and have him begging on his knees in three months.

But I didn't realize Bennet was standing right outside my booth, listening to every word.

Things spiraled out of control when my terrifying uncle, the city's Chief Medical Examiner, caught me at the bar and forced Bennet to escort me home.

I blacked out in his Maybach.

I woke up the next morning in his penthouse with my silk dress torn to pieces and his scratch-covered chest exposed.

I tried to pass it off as a drunken mistake and run, but Bennet trapped me against the door.

He demanded we get married, threatening to throw me back to my ruthless father who wanted to sell me off to cover his corporate debts.

I didn't understand. He was the ruthless kingmaker of Wall Street, a man who ruined people for fun.

Why was he using a one-night stand to force me into a marriage I never wanted?

Before I could escape, my uncle started pounding on the penthouse door, ready to ruin us both.

Bennet pulled me into his arms, pinched my waist as a warning, and stared down at me.

"Do you want to survive this, Daphne?"

Cornered, I buried my face in his chest and squeezed out fake tears, officially starting a deadly game with the devil himself.
