Story
The story
A week before her wedding, Leah notices her fiancé Marcus gagging at the smell of food. When she mentions it to her younger sister Coral, Coral only makes a sharp, offhand remark about sympathetic morning sickness and other women. Leah dismisses it; Marcus is traditional and composed, Coral rebellious, and the two have sniped at each other for years.
Then Leah takes her first afternoon off to set up their new condo and finds the front door ajar. Inside, Marcus and Coral are together, and Coral is pregnant. Marcus calls it a stupid game, yet he has been vomiting every morning for her. Coral, draped in Leah's own robe, mocks her and claims Leah brought this on herself by praising Marcus for years.
Leah locks Marcus inside the condo and walks next door, where Coral waits with the chicken broth Leah packed for Marcus that morning. The boy who promised to love her until they were a hundred is gone.

I assumed it was pre-wedding jitters. When I vented to my younger sister, Coral, she merely stared at the pot of restorative chicken broth simmering on the stove and made a sharp, offhand remark.
