When Her Best Friend Chose Me

Three months into dating Hannah, Adam finds his real rival is not her campus admirers but Drew, her male best friend. Drew claims the front seat with tales of motion sickness, opens Adam's new cologne and sprays it on himself, and slides his bowl across the table for Hannah to peel his shrimp, while Hannah laughs it off as harmless and calls Adam insecure.

Then Oliver, Hannah's untouchable high school flame, transfers back to Waverly University, and campus boards buzz that Adam is only a budget knockoff of him. In the basement restroom of the Old Arts Building, Oliver and a pack of frat boys corner Adam and drench him in filth, demanding he lick Oliver's sneakers.

Drew crashes through the door and drives them off with a filthy mop, then shields Adam behind his shoulder. That night Adam shows Hannah the posts, and she admits she once had feelings for Oliver.
