After That, the Rainy Season Never Ended

On the eve of her wedding, Yolanda Xander goes to a hospital alone to end her pregnancy, carrying the child of Richard Johnson. There a doctor recognises her, and a private investigator she hired arrives with a report confirming that Wendy Warren's unborn baby belongs to Richard. Looking down through the glass, she sees Richard strolling arm in arm with Wendy, who is his young stepmother, and when she calls him for help he dismisses her and hangs up.

After the procedure, Yolanda meets the two of them in the corridor. Richard fusses over Wendy's jacket and even asks to borrow Yolanda's umbrella so Wendy will not get wet, brushing aside her reminder that she too carries his child. Left alone, she makes a decision: the intimate photographs of Richard and Wendy are to be printed and hidden in the new home, ready to rain down on the wedding guests.

Back home, she finds Richard curled up on the couch with Wendy, laughing over a soap opera, while Wendy glances across at her.
