Betrayed on the Eve: His 'Business Trip' Led to a Hotel

After a long trip, a wife returns home to news that her lawyer husband, Julian, is throwing her a lavish birthday party. But the night before, a message appears on his phone: someone has waited five years for him. Julian claims his firm needs him on an emergency business trip and leaves. She tracks his car to the Riverside Manor, where fireworks and ribbons greet a birthday and fifth-anniversary celebration. In his arms is Chloe, once their housekeeper's daughter, now introduced to the crowd as Miss Sterling, heiress of the Sterling family, and Julian's childhood sweetheart and wife. The guests praise the devoted couple and the multi-million dollar cases she supposedly brought the firm. When the wife steps forward and splashes wine in Julian's face, he orders her home, and Chloe tearfully claims a baby is on the way. The crowd turns on her, branding her a housekeeper and gold-digger, and a shove sends her head into a table corner, blood flowing. As Chloe boasts of her Oxford Law PhD, the wife resolves to divorce them both.
