Natalie has just woken on Tuesday, September 14, the day before her final-round superday with Meridian Capital and the night before her roommate Megan Clark stages a sleepwalking episode to destroy her laptop and interview suit. She remembers the life that followed: the ruined interview, the disciplinary mark, the years of hardship, while Megan climbed to a top-tier bank and a comfortable life in Greenwich. This time Natalie is ready. She hides a nanny cam, a voice recorder and a recording iPad around her workstation, emails Mrs. Gable to preserve the fourth-floor corridor footage, and asks Meridian's Ms. Kensington for backup dial-in links. When Megan slips down the ladder at 12:14 AM and brings a mug down on the laptop, the suite wakes to the crash. What the cameras captured now waits to be seen.
