He Faked Being Sick for 3 Years to Cheat

Chloe has spent years caring for her husband Ethan, who claims to suffer from "Sleeping Beauty syndrome" and falls into deep, unbroken sleep for days. During each episode she takes on every chore alone, never complaining about his absence. Then a forgotten set of keys sends her back home, where she hears laughter through the door and finds Ethan holding Maya Miller in his arms, confessing that his illness was invented to hide their vacations together.

Reeling, Chloe approves an overseas transfer at work and begins quietly preparing to leave. Ethan returns from his "episode" with a necklace she recognizes as a leftover from Maya's haul, and later a red mark on his collarbone. When Maya's power goes out, he races across town wearing the handmade watch Chloe's late father left her, the same watch she gave him as a token of trust.

As her departure nears, Chloe hides her cold resolve behind a flat smile, waiting for the day Ethan will no longer be able to find her.
