The Moon That Once Watched Over Me

At a company event, a necklace falls from Camille Sinclair's purse, engraved with the initials L.L. To shield her friend Logan Lane, she publicly reveals her secret seven-year marriage to Liam Locke, claiming the letters are her husband's. Afterward, Liam quietly asks for his mother Margaret Locke's medication, only for Logan to arrive with a box of pills and humiliate him before a laughing crowd. By the next day, Liam is the industry's joke.

Returning to the hospital, Liam finds his dying mother dead by suicide, her note begging him to stop begging Camille. He cremates her alone. At home, he walks in on Camille and Logan together; she hands him the pills and warns he must thank Logan to keep them coming. Liam hires a private investigator, doubting her death was sudden.

Back at Camille's house, a party is underway: Logan proposes to her, and Liam's mother's ashes have been used as decoration. When he lunges at Logan, Camille strikes him with an ashtray, then rushes Logan to the hospital, leaving Liam to gather what remains of his mother.
