How My Brother Landed on My Payroll

When Dad catches Adam Sterling street racing, he cuts off the heir of a tens-of-millions fortune overnight. Broke and hungry, Adam swallows his pride and asks his sister Sophie Williams for a loan. She offers him a job instead: thirty dollars to buy her breakfast, forty-five to carry her backpack, seventy-five to hand her water during PE, and one hundred fifty to wipe the sweat off her face.

Nobody at school knows the two are siblings, and Adam begs her to keep it that way. Riley Tucker, a scholarship student, decides Sophie is humiliating him and forces her to sign a pledge never to order Adam around with money. Sophie signs without a word, then cancels every one of his scheduled jobs and cuts off his allowance.

Riley calls him free, but Adam is away at a closed-door tournament and has no idea his livelihood is gone. Meanwhile, classmates start lining up to take his place.
