Story

The story

On the day she earns her Ph.D., Emily Carter secretly flies home to surprise her father David and brother Ethan. Instead, she finds them preparing a wedding for the housekeeper's daughter, Olivia, who is set to marry Emily's own fiancé, Adam Sullivan. David publicly declares Olivia his true daughter and Emily the housekeeper's child. In a previous life, Emily stayed silent to protect the family name, and they pushed her off a cliff; her mother Christina was left with nothing and died alone on the streets. Now reborn, Emily storms the stage and tears the veil from Olivia, refusing to let anyone take what her mother designed for her. Ethan and David take Olivia's side, while the butler Arthur snatches the veil and cuts Emily's palm. As Olivia plays the innocent, the guests whisper against Emily. Then Ethan and David present Olivia a sapphire necklace and shares meant for Emily, and she realizes the full extent of their scheme.
