After hearing my girlfriend and friends brag, I turned around and knocked down the mansion of the richest father and inherited the family business.

For five years, Liam Stone has funded his girlfriend Scarlett's acting career, selling the house his mother left him and taking degrading gigs to clear her debts twice over. When she sobs about a third debt, he stands outside his billionaire father's mansion, hesitating to knock.

That night he overhears Scarlett bragging to friends that she invented the debt for fun, and that Liam is her obedient puppy. He tears up the contract, knocks on his father's door, and agrees to take over the family business and marry Seraphina Sterling.

Returning home, he finds Scarlett performing the same pity play, ring in hand. He pushes her away, blocks her contacts, and prepares to leave the industry, while Seraphina's thoughtful messages hint at what sincerity could look like.
