Story

The story

Rachel has been with Sebastian for ten years. He proposed seven times, and each time she refused: first her father was in the ICU, then her mother was caught in a lawsuit, and after her parents passed away one after another, she had no heart for marriage. When he stopped asking, she decided to propose to him herself. But he never showed up, saying only that work was busy.

Walking alone that night, Rachel sees Sebastian with his arm around a girl named Sophie, kissing her while their friends remark that the two have been together for ten years. She sends him a message and he calls her ridiculous. He insists it was only a company dinner, and Sophie, the boss's daughter, later mocks her to her face. Rachel ends the relationship and packs her things.

As she leaves, Sophie falls and blames her, and Sebastian demands an apology. Rachel accepts a job in another city, but Sophie keeps calling, asking whether she is afraid to admit she could not keep a man for ten years.

I had been dating Sebastian for ten years.

He proposed seven times.

The first time, my dad was in the ICU.

I refused.

The second time, my mom was entangled in a lawsuit.

I refused again.

Later, after both my parents passed away one after another, I was depressed for a long time and had no desire to get married.

After the seventh time, he never brought it up again.

So this year, I decided I would be the one to propose, but he didn't show up.

He said, "Work is busy. Let's talk about it tomorrow when we meet."
